Sharjah Women's Clubs, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah share the top spot in the Commons Fencing Championship
Abu Dhabi, June 2, 2025 - The fencing championship for the general category (individual and teams), the last tournament of the local season, concluded yesterday, with the participation of 150 players at the Hamdan Bin Zayed School in Abu Dhabi.
The tournament witnessed wide participation from UAE clubs, as well as teams from abroad, most notably Abu Dhabi Fencing Clubs, Sharjah Women's Sports Club, Fujairah Martial Arts, Sharjah Sports, Al Ain Center, MK Academy, and the Bahraini Federation team.

The fencing team will participate in the world championships in Morocco and China
The UAE fencing team is preparing to participate in two international tournaments, the Fencing World Cup for men and women in Morocco at the end of this March, and the World Championship for cubs and juniors in China during the month of April.
The UAE Fencing Federation announced a list of six fencers to participate in the Ibeh World Cup, which will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, from March 27 to 30: Imran Al Balushi, Mohammed Al Mazmi, Saleh Al Balushi, Khalifa Al Zarooni, Zainab Al Hosani and Shaikha Al Zaabi, under the leadership of Russian coach Georgy Laminov.
The World Cubs and Junior Championships in China will be held in Wuxi from April 7 to 15, with the participation of 15 male and female players: Hazza Al-Abri, Rashed Mubarak, Abdullah Al-Kindi, Lian Thabet ( Sabre Weapon), Al Hayam Al Balushi, Faris Al Balushi, Abdulrahman Mubarak (Foil Weapon), Hamdan Saif, Saleh Al Balushi, Mohammed Al Obaidli, Dana Al Mesmari and Lamar Al Nahla (Epee Weapon).

"Sharjah WSC" tops fencing championship
DUBAI, April 28 / WAM / The Sharjah Women's Sports Club won the title of the fourth Fencing Federation Championship, which was organized by the Emirates Fencing Federation at Al Mizhar Hall in Dubai over two days and concluded yesterday, with the participation of about 200 male and female players.

Salem Al Qasimi: "Nad Al Sheba" has established its place in the UAE's sporting calendar
Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the UAE and Asian Fencing Federations, affirmed that the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament has become a landmark in the UAE sports calendar and a major stop on the fencing calendar annually, due to its continuous development and the increasing demand for participation in its competitions, reflecting its status as one of the largest community sports events in the region.
The 12th edition of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, which was held over two days at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, concluded yesterday with the crowning of the winners in the Epee category.
In the men's competition, Iranian Mohammad Ismaili won the gold medal, while Emirati Maid Mohammed won the second place and achieved silver, and his teammate Khalifa Al Zarooni came in third place and won the bronze medal.
In the women's Epee competition, Tunisia's Sara Besbas won the gold medal, the UAE's Alanoud Al Saadi came second in silver, while Shaikha Al Zaabi came third and won the bronze medal.

11male and female players in the UAE national team for the World Fencing Championships
The UAE fencing team will participate in the World Junior and Cubs Championships, which will be held in Wuxi, China, from April 7 to 15, with individual and team competitions in the three weapons of Sabre, Epee and Foil.
The mission is headed by Mousa Al Balushi, Secretary General of the UAE Fencing Federation, and includes Reem Al Shamaa as administrator, Osama Adel as technical director, and coaches Georgi Lamenov and Virgil Marcia.
The team list includes 11 male and female players, namely Hazzaa Al-Abri, Abdullah Al-Kindi, Rashed Mubarak, Lian Thabet, Faris Al-Balushi, Abdulrahman Mubarak, Al-Hayam Al-Balushi, Hamdan Al-Jahdmi, Saleh Al-Balushi, Mohammed Al-Obaidli, and Lamar Al-Nahla.

19 players represent the UAE at the Asian Fencing Championships
The UAE fencing team for the junior and youth categories under 17 and 20 years old will participate in the Asian Fencing Championship, which is being held in Kuwait and opened its competitions yesterday with the participation of 780 players, and will continue until February 28.
The opening of the tournament was attended by Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Asian and UAE Fencing Federations, and heads of delegations of 25 countries participating in the tournament, which is one of the most prominent continental competitions in the sport of fencing, as it witnesses the participation of some of Asia's best male and female players in the categories of cubs and juniors.
The UAE delegation is headed by Musa Al Balushi, Secretary General of the Fencing Federation, and includes 19 male and female fencers competing in 6 team competitions and 11 individual competitions, in the “Foil” weapons for boys and girls under 17 and 20 years, ‘Epee’ for girls under 17 and 20 years, and “Saber” for boys under 17 and 20 years, and for girls under 20 years.
